Hair Care

You’ve invested your money in extensions and we want to assist you in making them last!

To keep your extensions looking great it’s vital to only use water based and natural products for your extensions. Adding products (ie., hair spray, etc) that contains many harmful ingredients (certain alcohol/sulfates) affects the natural state of your extensions. In addition, water based products are important, as they add moisture to your hair, not grease.

Low/Medium Maintenance Patterns:
Any wave like Malaysian Body wave and Peruvian Body Wave are all low/medium maintenance patterns. To maintain these patterns naturally you may plait, 2-strand twist, flexi-rod, band-knot or roller set. The frequent use of heating tools when diminish these patterns over time. When washing wavy hair patterns you should always wash your hair in sections to avoid tangling or matting. These patterns ware perfect for a wash and go look. Most times, depending on length, the wave pattern dismisses all together because of it being our loosest wave pattern.

High Maintenance Patterns:
Any of our curly hair patterns are considered high maintenance because these patterns must be detangled daily, moisturized frequently and properly cared for before laying down. Brazilian Loose wavy & Indian Wavy/ Curly, Kinky Curl, Deep Wave and Bohemian Curl require very little use of product, but must be co-washed ( conditioner only) frequently. Alcohol based products and many sulfate based shampoos can make this hair unmanageable. Product lines designed specifically for curly hair are not necessary, just a great moisturizing conditioner or Silicone Mix. Because of the tight coiled curls it’s best NOT to wear this hair wet everyday (this is not a wet and wavy pattern). Create a daily moisture mix, purchase a spray bottle, fill with water, conditioner and argan oil then mist throughout the hair. To avoid tangling at the weft detangle daily with a paddle brush, plait into sections before bed and ensure your hair is dry from root to bottom completely. If you have never worn a weave or lack experience with dealing with curly hair it is recommended that you DO NOT purchase a high maintenance pattern.

Silk & Lace Closure Care:
Closures are very delicate fabrics infused with virgin hair. It is very important to refrain from over bleaching the knots, applying heat directly to the closure, scratching or/and plucking any hairs from the closure. Improper installation and care of the closure will cause the closure to thin out and bald quickly. We DOT NOT replace or repair closures.

Styling:
Just like your real hair, virgin hair can also be colored, highlighted, straightened, curled, washed, blow-dried, and just about anything else you can imagine. Keep in mind that just like your real hair over processing your virgin hair extensions can make the hair dull and lifeless. The use of too much heat and over bleaching can cause your extensions to be brittle and damaged.

Making Your Extensions Last:

  • Brush and de-tangle your hair prior to washing.
  • Do not wash your hair in a circular motion- this will cause tangling.
  • Do not cut the wefts or tracks this will cause shedding, if the wefts must be cut please seal with our weft sealant.
  • Co-washing (conditioner only) is vital. Shampooing can strip the hair, but if your hair feels heavy use a pH balanced or Sulfate-free shampoo.
  • Wash your extensions minimum every 2 weeks to avoid product and dirt build up.
  • Always dry the root of your hair and weft of the extension to avoid matting.
  • Gently comb hair with a wide tooth comb. Begin combing small sections at the ends, working up towards the scalp.
  • Scrunch ends of hair to reform natural wave pattern.
  • It is recommended to let the hair air dry naturally but you may use a blow dryer – set on cool or low heat temperature (hooded dryer highly recommended).
  • When using styling and heating tools it is very important to use a heat protectant spray.
  • Use light natural oils such as Argan Oil or Coconut Milk Oil.
  • Prior to going to bed, we recommend wrapping, bunning, braiding, etc. then tying with a silk or satin scarf.
  • Prior to going swimming wash and leave the conditioner on your hair. This will help prevent the salt water and chlorine from drying out your extensions.

DO NOT USE PRODUCTS WITH EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF PROTEIN, KERATIN AND SULFATES.
